Alene’s Note

We’re STILL walking for food. Three more days. After my week of “de-stressing”, I am thoroughly stressed. (I think selecting the first week of having my husband and kids home was ill-timed. More on this later.) This week we are tackling possessions, so you’ll get to hear the harrowing adventures of finding 7 items per person per day to give away, BUT instead of writing about that, I (and my super-smart friend Amy) did a little “summer spruce-up” on the blog. What do you think?

Okay, down to business.

This post is not about me. This is a “guest/cheater post” by my friend Alene, who has been joining us for The Summer of 7. She is the first brave soul to tackle the “No Media” week challenge for the Summer of 7. No TV. No Internet. No Facebook.

(Perish the thought that I’ll be doing this in 4 weeks.)

But . . . being the enabler that I am, I offered to let her e-mail something to me to guest post. So, in her typically profound and butt-kicking way, Alene sent me this.

Reading Alene’s note, brought this passage to my mind.

Psalm 73:25-26

25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

What keeps you from CRAVING God? Is it MEDIA?

  1. Thanks for letting me cheat over here. Hmmmmm – media week is butt-kicking! My battle with clothes is nothing compared to what this week has done to me. Oh my stars — gotta keep my GOD number one and CRAVE Him only!

I started to write another note and send it to you, but I’m telling you — it would have been a crazy-post-from-a-whacko-woman!

Still deciphering what the Lord spoke to my soul. I’m shaking both my fists at you this week for asking me to be a part of Summer of 7 — shakin’ them high and hard at you!

    love you though.
Positively Alene recently posted…dear self, i am proud of you.My Profile
