July Menu Plan

I posted a plan last month and realized that I probably should have posted a running “actual” to show the ebb and flow of our menu over time.  I think I will do that for this month, so you can check back to this post any time you are curious to see what we are actually eating vs. what I’ve planned for us to eat. This month will rely on flexibility since we are all home and there will be lots of grazing.  Also, we’ve eaten a lot of what was built up in the pantry, so I’ll really have to pay attention to sales to get the meat that we need.

During the week of July 19th, I’m going to go to “work,” writing a novel I’ve been thinking of, so J’s going to be in charge of the kitchen and house. I’ll post more about his menu when the time comes.

  1. Your menu plan makes me remember I need to try more variety. I rely on chicken and ground beef way too much! Let me know if you ever want a quick and easy meatball recipe–good for freezing and using for subs and on spaghetti. We end up doing quite a bit of pasta too–I know, not always the healthiest, but we all love it and being pregnant the extra protein is good. So far I haven’t had to worry about eating too many calories, since they really wanted me to gain more weight–but I suspect soon I’ll have to start being more careful. Do you have any favorite zucchini recipes? I think we’ll be overwhelmed soon and be trying to give it away, even though we all love it.

    1. Megan, here’s a zucchini recipe. Slice. Toss in ziploc with olive oil, dry ranch seasoning packet, and bacon bits. Bake or grill in grill pan till browned. DELICIOUS and EASY!! Thanks to Carrie Jones for this one.
